RESPOND IN WORSHIP

When tragedy first strikes Job, he responded in worship…

“Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship.” Job 1:20

Job did reach a point where he cursed the day he was born in his moment of agony. Eliphaz told him…

“In the past, you have encouraged many people; you have strengthened those who were weak. Your words have supported those who were falling; you encouraged those with shaky knees. But now when trouble strikes, you lose heart. You are terrified when it touches you. Doesn’t your reverence for God give you confidence? Doesn’t your life of integrity give you hope? “Stop and think! Do the innocent die? When have, the upright been destroyed?” Job 4:3-7

Job was a man of complete integrity and considered blameless by God. Yet God allowed him to suffer. His character was put to the test.

Ask yourself, how do I respond when I’m going thorough? When everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong? When I feel like someone is being rude or unkind towards me? etc… I had to ask myself these questions and many other questions. Sometimes God allow us to experience pain through certain situations that will make us extremely uncomfortable. He will test our character to purify us. I am learning true humility. I have learned to continually pray Psalms 139:23-24. I realized it’s more important to focus on how I’m responding, my attitude, and actions than focus on my circumstances, what’s being done or said to me. I learned to hold my peace, knowing God sees all. He cares and he understands. He tests the heart of every person. I accepted where I am, learned why I’m in that season, and decided to continue trusting God. I decided not to let anything happening outside of my control change my praise and worship.
