Proverbs 31:30 says, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.” True beauty does not begin with outer appearance. We can see it in those that fear the Lord. Holiness is beautiful. It’s not found in expensive attires or costly hair grooming. It comes out souls with the mind of Christ and a heart that fears the Lord. Physical beauty ultimately fade away, no matter how beautiful we consider ourselves. Physical fitness and strength fade away. We are frail; healthy hair, and healthy skin all come to an end once we take our last breath. Being healthy, and well-groomed is important. However, none of that matters if our soul is filthy and unattractive. Underneath your clothing and makeup is it all well within your soul? Who or what is the source of your identity? Who will you be if you lose your health or beauty? What will happen if you lose your strength? True beauty is learning and growing to become all that God created us to be. True beauty should show Christ image and likeness within us.
